Cody has been playing hockey since he was three years old and instructing/coaching since he was fifteen years old. Cody comes from a large hockey family that started in the Chicago area and has reached places all over the world. Cody played travel hockey in the Chicago suburbs and then Junior Hockey for the Atlanta Knights and Rochester Ice Hawks. He then received a grant to play at Lindenwood University and did so for three years. Cody currently does private skating lessons and spent the 2015-2016 season coaching the DASA Blues Sled Hockey team out of Wentzville, MO. Being from Chicago Cody is a huge Chicago Blackhawks fan and while he tries to be fair to all professional hockey players and organizations, he usually makes most of his comparisons during camp to the Blackhawks. Specifically Patrick Kane for obvious reasons. Cody participated in Turcotte Hockey School camps from the very beginning of his hockey playing career. He has been with the Turcotte Hockey School going on eight years as an instructor and has benefited from working under the guidance of major instructors Sylvain and Alfie Turcotte as well as Nick Turcotte throughout that time. Cody feels that the Turcotte Hockey School is important to individual skill development because most coaches neglect the stickhandling efforts. Turcotte Hockey School provides a fun and electric environment that is based on repetition through different formats of drills in order to keep the young hockey players attention as well as develop necessary puck skills and concepts that become second nature to a seasoned hockey player.
